Wheel End Hub Bearings

Wheel end hub bearings are essential components in automotive and other wheel-bearing applications. They are designed to support the weight of the vehicle while allowing the wheels to rotate smoothly and with minimal friction.

The hub bearing assembly consists of several components, including an inner and outer ring, rolling elements (usually ball or tapered roller bearings), a cage or retainer that holds the rolling elements in place, and seals to protect the bearings from contaminants and retain lubrication.

The inner ring of the hub bearing assembly is mounted onto the wheel hub, which is attached to the vehicle’s suspension system. The outer ring is typically mounted inside the wheel or brake rotor. The rolling elements facilitate smooth rotation between the inner and outer rings, allowing the wheel to spin freely.
